The New England Book Show, 2019

Rod Sanchez received a 2nd Place Design Award for his design and illustration of the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, “HMH Into Reading” K-12 educational covers by The New England Book Show, 2019. The award pertained to Rod's logo design and brand direction for the “HMH Into Reading” program, which was displayed consistently across the grade level cover set as well as for his cover illustrations in both the English and Spanish language markets. These published works will be retained in the “Book Show” archive at Boston College.

Rod Sánchez's painted portrait of Diego Maradona was one of 32 selected Maradona portraits out of 523 worldwide submissions in the International Illustration Competition hosted by Swiss futból magazine, Tschutti Heftli.

Portrait Illustrations of the Colombia National Team – FIFA World Cup 2018

Rod Sánchez's painted portrait of Diego Maradona was one of 32 selected Maradona portraits out of 523 worldwide submissions in the International Illustration Competition hosted by Swiss futból magazine, Tschutti Heftli. International jury members included National Soccer Hall of Fame member and Fox Sports professional U.S. footballer/sports commentator, Alexi Lalas. Each winning artist will paint the portraits of one team in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Rod was selected to paint the portraits of the Colombia National Team for publication in the 2018 Tschutti Heftli Collectors Album. Proceeds from the album go to the humanitarian charity "Terre des Hommes," the leading Swiss child relief agency improving the lives of vulnerable children through health care, protection, and emergency aid projects.

Rod Sánchez received a Silver Design Award by The Create Awards 2008 – Winners Showcase, for his graphic design of the sell-in brochure in promotion of the book: Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go. This award was published in the 2008 Nov. + Dec. issue of Create Magazine.

1st Place Design Award
J.P. Morgan Chase – Corporate Challenge, 2008

Rod was selected by Human Resources management at Penguin Random House to design the award-winning Penguin Random House T-shirt design for the Penguin Random House running team racing in the J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge. Rod’s T-Shirt design won the 1st place design award in the 2008 annual J.P. Morgan Chase T-Shirt Design competition in New York City. The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is the world’s largest corporate running event, (a 3.5-mile / 5.6-kilometer road race) with events taking place in 15 locations across eight countries and six continents.
